The story behind this vase
I painted it ultra matte black, as I held it up wondering where to take it from here as it felt a bit plain, I dropped it! But the pattern it smashed in looked so pretty and a clean break with no little shards... I remembered my Mother had an 18th Century plate that had been fixed with staples, it always fascinated me as a kid.. so I got it in my head I would 'stitch' the vase back together with metal wire.. fixing the dilemma of it being too plain!
Drilling the tiny holes either side of each stitch was slightly taxing, but from something broken looking like beyond repair emerged something even better!
And I love that for this little vase! Shes so much more fabulous for it.
